Okay so you remember I told you all yesterday I had some big news to share? Well its true. . . On Christmas day we shared something pretty exciting with our family and friends.
Well Bree doesn’t look thrilled about the news, but I am pregnant! We waited until Christmas to tell everyone as a little bonus gift.
Travis’s parents live on the other side of the state, so right before we left our house to head to Christmas breakfast at my parents, we called his mom and dad and put them on speaker phone and yelled we were pregnant! The news was received very well! They were both super excited for us and that really started the day off perfectly.
After we got to my parents place, we all opened our stockings together. When all the stockings were opened, I told mom I had one more gift for everyone and to open it and then read it aloud. I had painted an ornament the night before and it said, “Baby Whalen, arriving in time for Christmas 2013!” I wish I had snapped a picture of it but totally forgot, its now safe and sound in a storage bin waiting for next year.
My mom said she had suspected for about a month! Can’t fool the mother I guess. It was so nice though to finally get the news out there and not have to keep our little secret anymore.
As of today I am 10 weeks along plus a couple day. The pregnancy is going to be part of my excuse for not Blogging in December. I was so exhausted all the time and just felt like poo. When I got home from work I hardly made it through the door before passing out on the couch or in bed. I have never been so tired in my life. Plus, with my job picking up through December, as retail always does, it was just not my best month. The past couple days have been better though, so here’s to hoping that the worst part of the morning sickness, aka, all day long sickness, it on its way out.
Well that’s my news for today. Life changing if I do say so myself! I’m off to get ready for work. Its super cold here today so I’m going to take a hot shower and bundle up before heading out. Gotta love winter in the northwest.
I’ll be posting lots more on our new little adventure in the coming weeks, so keep checking back! Have a good day!
