Everyone! The last few days have been amazing. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Today was my fourth day off in a row. That never happens!
The first day off I got to hear my babies heartbeat, hang out with my husband, and go to dinner with friends. Second day was spent sleeping in (much needed I might add), going to a local gun show with my husband, and heading to bed early which was beyond nice. I even got a workout in, which was the first in a couple weeks. Since I am finally feeling better I thought I should get back in the swing of things. It actually felt pretty good to stretch and get my blood pumping. On my third day, I slept in again, (do you see a pattern here?) cleaned the house all day, which was very therapeutic, and then had friends over for dinner.
And today I woke up to this:
Can you believe all that snow? It ended up dumping about 8 inches throughout the night and into the morning. It was beautiful but ruined my plans for coffee with a friend. The roads were pretty gross and my car isn’t the best, so I canceled and decided to make it a snow day at home.
I did get a pleasant surprise though. My sister Lesly decided to pay me a call with my little nephew Danny and hang out for the late morning/early afternoon. We made cupcakes, chatted, and watch How To Train Your Dragon.
After they left I settled down on the couch and pretty much haven’t left.
This has been my spot! I have been playing on the internet and watching Gossip Girl, don’t judge! Oh and I have been drinking lots of juice. I love juice. It must somehow have to do with the pregnancy because I cannot get enough of the stuff.
I have been trying to do some research this afternoon and am hoping maybe some of you can help? I am trying to find a instructional website or blog about cloth diapers. I am really considering using them for our baby but need to know more info and can’t seem to find a site that really goes into depth about them. Any suggestions? Yes, yes I have heard soooooo many people say, “Gross! Cloth diapers? You’ll regret it!” That’s nice and all, and I am sure cloth diapers and not for everyone, but I really want some reviews from people that have tried them and have first hand experience.
Well the husband just got home and really wants to head out to look at furniture, our couch is on it’s last legs. I’ll feed him and then see how I’m feeling, a trip out of the house might be nice, we shall see.
Enjoy your evening all!

I have really enjoyed your article. It’s good that you have had much rest and had some quality time with your family.

We went with disposable diapers for our daughter bc we both work and could not see making her caretakers deal with the extra work since she is not the only baby in their care. That being said, I was told when researching cloth that the best route to go is a diaper service. It cuts back on all the laundry, and there will definitely be more than double with cloth diapers, and they bring you lovely fresh nappies weekly.
Thanks for the suggestion! I can see if you are a working mom how that might be a burden on a sitter. Something to consider for sure!
I did cloth diapers when my thirty-something was a baby. You need a pail in the bathroom to soak them, and a good washing machine to wash them. I did not own a dryer until I had a baby, but then I needed one to be sure that I had clean, dry diapers all the time. I bought a used dryer.
I’m sure that improvements have been made in 30 years, but even old-style cloth diapers are doable. I didn’t use disposables until we started with potty training. It is much cheaper, but more work, as you have to rinse them, soak them, wash and dry them.
Being a new mom, you will get over body fluid squick pretty quickly. Others in the family may not. You already have a sewage treatment system if you have indoor plumbing, so you can manage, even if you are working. You will not be dumping loads of “toxic waste” into your local landfill, but into the sewage system, which is already set up for it.
I did, back in the day.

Thanks for the encouragement and advice! I am going to give it a go! I think it’s just about developing a routine and after a while it will become habit, I hope!
