I have been trying to make my own Hummus for weeks now, with several disappointing results. Hummus is hard to get just right. After several attempts and lots of cans of garbanzo beans, I have a recipe I’m ready to share!
In a small blender, add:
- 1 can garbanzo beans
- 3 Tbs. lemon Juice (fresh squeezed is the best!)
- 1 garlic clove
- 1/2 tsp. salt or more to taste
- 1/2 tsp. Cumin Powder
- 1/2 tsp. Paprika
- 1 – 2 tsp. Tahini
- Pepper to taste
- Optional: I added a couple leafs of fresh basil to one of my attempts and really liked the kick it added.
Blend all together. I like mine on the thicker side but if it doesn’t blend well you can add a few teaspoons of water to thin it out.
Serve with veggies or crackers and enjoy! I love my hummus on Cracked Pepper and Olive Oil Triscuit’s with half a grape tomato on top. One of my all time favorite ways to enjoy hummus!
Let me know what you think! If you have suggestions I am all ears.
