37 weeks baby! My little guy is ready to go!
This week my little man is doing the following:
Your baby’s the size of a winter melon!
Yay! Baby has reached full term. He likely measures around 18.9 to 20.9 inches and weighs about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds. He’s gaining about 1/2 ounce each day.
Get excited. At 37 weeks, your baby has reached full term. That means he’s developed his most crucial functions. Of course, he’ll get even healthier and stronger over the next few weeks, so don’t get too impatient. Around week 37, many moms-to-be find themselves organizing cupboards and scrubbing their floors. That’s the nesting instinct kicking in as your body senses baby will be here shortly. It also might be your brain’s way of making sure you’re prepared for just about anything, so you can feel like you have an extra edge on this whole new parent thing. (source)
This is what’s going on with me:
I feel so ready but at the same time want to do so much before he comes! Like clean my whole house. I know, I know, nesting they say. But seriously, I know it will be a while before I can really put elbow grease into cleaning after baby is here so I would like to power down and clean just a bit more before little man arrives.
Weight gained: This last few weeks with all the swelling I’ve been experiencing due to the heat, I have put on about another five pounds. The doctor said it’s all just water weight, and with how swollen I feel I believe him. My feet guys, not pretty. On a total now we are at about 40 pounds gained.
Workouts: Will my tootsies the size of balloons after work I’m not really all that active. I have been soaking my feet nightly and then elevating them to reduce the swelling. So besides my house cleaning efforts, not much on the workout front.
Symptoms: Just the swelling and still my numb right hand. Did I mention I’m pretty done with this whole pregnancy thing? Lol baby come quickly!
Movement: Still throwing parties almost hourly in there. This little guy can boogie!
Food Aversions: Nothing really.
Food Cravings: Still loving my veggies and popsicles. Chocolate is never bad either.
Sleep: Meh, it’s okay. I generally wake up one to two times to go potty, and other than that just trying to keep cool with minimal sheets and lots of fans going.
Stretch marks? No more than last time. Still have them under my right breast and on the lower portion of my abdomen.
Miss Anything? We went out on a date night Friday and I really wanted a strawberry daiquiri. It sounded beyond amazing! Plus, I’m still envying everyone’s cute summer wardrobes.
Belly Button in or out? So, so flat. Almost non-existent.
Wedding rings on or off? Off. With all this heat and my swelling there is no way that baby is anywhere close to going on.
Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly happy with a bit of crabbiness from the heat thrown in.
New Baby Items: We grabbed some frames for a few pictures for his room and some storage items. My sister went through my nephews summer wardrobe since her little guy is due in November and gave me a bunch more cute warm weather outfits! My guy is going to be so well dressed!
Well guys I’m off to work. Just this week and next and I’m officially done! Still hard to really take in considering I’ve been there for seven years now. It’s getting real folks!
Since I wasn’t able to blog on the 4th I just wanted to leave you all with this!
Have a great Monday!
