So I told you about our nursery project ages ago and never gave you a reveal. This is due to the fact that I don’t consider it complete yet, there are a few more final touches I want to do. However, these are probably a month or so in the future so instead of making you wait, I’ll just show it to you all again when it’s truly finished! How about that?!
Since it is Tyrion’s room it’s only fair to show a picture of him smiling on his carpet yesterday. Such a ham!
So, this was the nursery before:
I wanted to keep it simplistic and not go overboard on a theme. I like a clean, neat look. I went with three light gray walls and one light yellow one. Very neutral. The chest on the bottom left of the top picture Travis made! It’s Tyrion’s toy box. I am planning on buying padding and sewing a cushion on top to make it a kind of window seat too! I also want to sew a bed skirt for the crib.
I love, love, love the closet! I hated the old accordion style it had before. So dated! I am very open concept and thought the open closet would make the room look bigger. It definitely did. We went to Home Depot for the closet system and they didn’t have exactly what I wanted, so we bought pieces and I had Travis cut them down a bit and rearrange so they fit like I wanted. So glad we made what I imagined a reality! So glad my guy is a good handyman on the side!
The window frame in the picture was actually one of the old windows we replaced in the room! I loved the decals on in but the walls were too textured to adhere anything to, so I put them on the window frame and had Travis hang it! I though it turned out really good. The top left shadowbox is all the cards from my baby shower that were owl themed, I had to incorporate them somehow! The bottom picture is actually a cut out from a large gift bag from my second shower. I just loved the colors and thought they went with our theme so I hung it up!
The lamp I fell in love with when I saw it at T.J.Maxx, plus with a regular price of $75 on sale for $20 it couldn’t be beat! The frame beside it holds my second shower invitation, also owl themed.
The two pictures on the right are my cloth diaper area. Love how it makes it so easy to change my little squirmer!
The whale in the above picture was something Travis’s grandpa made him when he was a boy to keep his change in, I was so glad we had it to incorporate into Tyrion’s room. A piece of his great grandpa to look at every day!
That’s about it folks! Hope you like it! I will post more pictures when I consider it finally done!
